WELCOME TO THE SSC!!

Welcome to the SSC! (Sonic Spriters Club) I am your fearless leader, and crap artist :lol: . While I'm not one to draw for CRAP, I am a wicked spriter. (somewhat) Basically, this club is here to rally up all Sonic Spriters on DA, gather on the DA chatroom [link] and basically knock ourselves wild.

However, the spriters of DA face a BIG problem: DA admins. No offence.
DA seems to have this deep seeded hatred for spriters, believing we are in "Copyright Violation" Heck, I, your clan leader, has more than a 1024X768 screen size window in my Note box, FULL of these "Copyright Violations". As of right now, we only have a wallpaper contest, and a movement to allow sprites on DA.


Anyway, enough intro crap, if you would like to join SSC, send me a note, and tell me if you're a spriter, or a non-spriter that supports the movement.

whats you peoples problem I think the DA admin/mods are blowing this WAY outta porportion if you wanna get technical making a sprite from scrach or recolering one is fan art just like alot of art on DA and why do you guys have such a problem with spriting, it only violates copyright laws if it is sold or a profit is maid off of it, and if you REALLY technical all fan art on this site is vilating copyright laws by the way your explaning it the only reson you look down on spritting is because it's done on the computer and now drawn by hand, spritting taked just as much skill, time and talent as drawing if not more you have no right to dis spritters if your not one or dont know s**t about it

Dude, I wasn't talking about the sprites. She was ready to ban your club due to your behavior. She did NOT complain. She was warning you that if you continued that sort of behavior, you would be banned. If you continue with that immaturity, this club WILL be banned, and it will most likely be permanent. Think before you start posting such comments.

If you like to make sprites, that's fine. I have no problem with that. However, you are often just taking existing sprites and recoloring them. That's illegal, and posting those works on DA will get you banned. Not only that, but when fellow Deviants try to warn you of this, you throw insults at them, often involving many... ahem, four-letter words. Please listen... if you continue this, the administrators of DA will ban your club, along with every member of it. I do not want that to happen... seeing people get banned from DA makes me feel horrible. I am only trying to help you. It also seems that an administrator, $euphoria, has already warned you... yet you snapped back at them in a way that reminds me of a five-year-old. Do not do that again. It will not get you anywhere. Please, at least try to put a stop to this immature behavior...

...Manseri made his stuff from stratch, which is allowed. You folks are uploading material that's been edited from games w/o proven permission.

What ChaosX3 and ___ posted were both hearsay and can be made up by anyone. (I could easily say the same thing about the issue 'in your favor', does that mean it's true? No.) The "My brother works for SEGA" bit he also said isn't buyable because it [1] reeks of bogusness and [2] it goes back to the original comment.

An official statement from a SEGA represenative on an official and reliable site/interview is good enough for this- which nobody ever did yet. If you wish to take this to another person, please contact any of the Pixel Art gallery directors on devART, and most likely, they'll give you the same case.

Hi, me again. I just wanna say something about the site sprite policy. (Well, there isn't one exactly, but there are policies where sprites are included.

Unauthorized sprite reuse is not allowed on devART, especially if the sprites were ripped from a game. This includes spritesheets, spritecomics, sprite edits, etc. The exception to this are in avatars... unless the original owner of the sprites-in-question step up and say they don't want anyone using thier property. Naka (or anyone from SEGA or America/Europe/Japan for that matter) never said a thing about allowing others to use their spritework. Otherwise, they'd likely release their stuff to the public themselves.

Made-from-scratch sprites are allowed, unauthorized sprite reuse is not.
